Co. Yamada Un Obaketta
"Where does everyone go when they die?"
A dance piece that depicts human life and death in a gentle and warm way
"Obaketta," which premiered at the New National Theatre in 2021, was highly praised at its premiere in July 2021 for the dancers' powerful dancing, Satoru Ono's pop and catchy music, and colorful art by picture book author The Cabin Company. Based on the theme of "Where do we all go when we die?", the work depicts dancers with distinctive personalities transforming into spirits and monsters and traveling between this world and the afterlife, looking at human life and death in a gentle and warm manner.

<Archive Streaming> Co. Yamada Un "Cosmos"
This omnibus work takes as its motif gardens, hospital rooms, dining tables, lovemaking, chaos, festivals, closed borders, and mundane shapes found here and there on earth. It also includes the sense of loss of everyday life that was born from the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020. These motifs are then condensed into a vortex dance that represents the cosmos, or the order of the universe.
